- Apex Inspections owns and operates a MOI unit for use on Boeing aircraft inspections that require it. We are one of a very companies that have aquired this type of tooling for use on the Boeing Aircraft structure. We have used it in the course of SID and heavy "C" inspections on the DC-10 and MD-11 aircraft. We also operated this inspection unit on the Cessna Citation Lap seams. Using our 3D headset we are able to find the defects that are sometimes missed by others.
APEX Inspections - Magneto - Optical (MOI)
Magneto - Optical (MOI) is a portable system that produces images showing irregularities and discontinuities in the inspected material. Rivet holes, cracks, and subsurface corrosion are readily visible. The MOI uses eddy current imaging, which is a technology which allows non-destructive inspection of most ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic metals.
